Dealerships make THE MAJORITY of the money necessary to stay in business off PARTS AND SERVICE DEPARTMENTS (and the used car lot)…. NOT on the sale of a new car where anyone can lookup the actual (kind of) invoice that they paid the manufacturer for the car and barter or shop around.

Insight: When you take your car to dealership for service, they look up the job (that THEY deem necessary) in a book. This book lists the job-hours to complete said job. They charge you labor (upwards of $100/hr) based on the total time the book indicates….. REGARDLESS OF HOW QUICKLY THEY ACTUALLY COMPLETE THE WORK!!!!!! You are still paying them (at +$100/hr!!) AFTER they’ve already finished and are then on to working on SOMEBODY ELSE’S CAR!!! Two obvious problems….overcharging and rushed work!!!! ??‍♂️?

I’ve worked at several dealerships over the years I know this to be absolute fact. Don’t believe me….look at the labor charge on your next service invoice and see if there is fractional (not whole-number) labor charges….which would indicate they didn’t charge the entire allotted amount due to actually finishing in less time! ?

that Benz dealer in Calif. probably has to pay so many taxes and business fees to operate there, no wonder the labors so high.

My Plug-In hybrid doesn't have a starter and does shut down when stopped. My mileage is 2.9l/100kms. Not wearing out the starter or the cam.

I know of people who after a number of years have had problems with auto start engines that shut during stopped time. Best to have an engine that stays running all the time until until you finish your trip and shut it off. Using synthetic oil from when the engine was new is the best for the engine. This is especially true when starting and running the vehicle in very gold weather. I use synthetic oil all the year long.

I'm looking for a good used car and looking at the Lincoln LS and the Lincoln town car that you have mentioned in other videos but I'm drooling over the 280 horse power of the LS v8 what's your thoughts?
