This video is part 2 of the DIY Rattle Can Spot Repair I did on the front bumper cover on my Corolla. We will only be spraying half the bumper and using minimal tools and materials, everything will be masked up instead of removing and refitting. This video we will carry out a minor repair, prepare and mask.

Part 3 will be paint procedure and part 4 will be polishing.

See part 1 for a full list of tools and materials you’ll need to carry out the repair and paint procedure.

When you are prep sanding/scuffing, do you mean to totally remove the clear coat or are you just scuffing the surface?

It's strange seeing you use rattle can paint. But I'm glad to see that you are showing how to do a small job with no tools. I've had to do a few of these jobs myself in my 25 or so years of automotive work. I've mostly done mechanic work, but I recently started at a body shop here in the US as a detailer with hopes to become a painter. I've worked in a body shop before as an assistant, but didn't realize that I had a passion for it until a few years ago. Watching your videos has definitely helped me a lot. Thanks for the information and entertainment.

Has anyone got any advice for repairing two dots of surface rust on the inside of a rear door jam, want to keep the repair area small ?

    Thanks

Thank you for showing the way! I appreciate how you can work with small imperfections and not make it a big deal—-showing that sometimes "we" can't get things totally perfect but where can we stop to be "satisfied". Appreciate all of your professional videos. G-day! Oh, and I followed your suggestion of using a Scotch gray pad and they are worth every penny! Thank you!

You can 2k paint and clear in a can now but they are more expensive… But better quality… But it all in the budget… I guess
