Literally had this problem with our old Grand Caravan. We had a shop fix a flat and we forgot to have them rotate the wheels, but they literally air hammered them on. We had to pull out a 6ft long steel bar to get them off. Seriously, why!?

My local mechanic actually destroyed the lug nut by using those power impact ranches. The thing just was so tightly wound on the wheel that they had to break it off to take the wheel off.
