This was wonderful and put into context many of the feelings I’ve been dealing with or struggling to deal with recently. Thank you

I don't think it's just you, it's the situation. How long this will take to change…who knows? I'm the same at the moment, given up sorting out things / clearing up. Big pile of stuff for Ebay – can't be bothered. Taking the dogs out – can't be bothered. I've got my car which needs getting back on the road – can't be bothered. Falling asleep at the drop of a hat. It's starting to impact work which is the real issue but maybe that's added to as we're still working from home. The only upside to come out of these last 12 months is I seem to have regressed to the 70s (being over 50) which has been fantastic. Maybe it's the thoughts of happier times growing up and feeling safe there? Whatever it is..I try to ignore it (as I always do) which kind of suits me but no doubt heading for a huge meltdown one day.

Hi Ian whatever issues you or any of us have talking about it is a big help. The trouble with us men is we bottle things up we don’t open up like women do hence why suicide rates amongst men is a lot higher than women. Great talk though Ian no doubt you and miss HubNut have helped some of your subscribers by letting them know they are not on their own.

Almost everyone I know suffers from either anxiety, depression, lack of self esteem, or low confidence. Even the most outwardly confident, 'successful people'. It's incredibly common. It's really does seem to be the default human condition. One of your most important videos, well done both of you.

Thank you both for a fantastic and lovely video. Really interesting and helpful. And in terms of achievement/getting things done etc I love the HubNut videos, they really chime with my motoring and amateur mechanic interests. Thank you

Ian and Co, I really enjoy your videos and they have helped keep me going through the last year of this lockdown and stuff. With thanks to you and your crew. I learned about some cars that I didn't know existed. I am currently rebuilding my life and starting over again. Although I do mostly gaming videos and transport. Once everything reopens again etc. I can start going out more and getting on with life as intended.

Very insightful, and a good decision to use your platform to say something about mental health. I identify with a lot of what you said.. I'm much the same. I thrive when my favourite cars are running well and get down in the dumps when I feel defeated by a problem. My biggest tip to myself is to walk away from a difficult problem and deal with it the next day, it will often be sorted with fresh eyes and a fresh brain!

It's not you mate it's working on cars in general, some jobs just go wrong and make you question everything! Also, everybody is messed up at this time. Thanks for your videos to keep us all a bit more sane-ish

That's one of the best videos I've ever seen on YouTube, a loving couple πŸ’‘ that can talk each other about health issues. I suffer with depression and anxiety i also black days, nobody can see how we feel on the inside πŸ˜ͺ ,i think you and the lovely miss hubnut are very brave to talk about mental health issues as here in demark they just like to give out antidepressants and think it will go away, it is good to have someone else to talk to better than taking lots of pills πŸ’Š keep in good health both of you roy.πŸ™‚πŸ™‚
