CW/TW:

Today’s video tackles a very serious topic and very serious allegations being made against Tesla, some of its employees and its management. It centres around a civil court case filed by the Department of Fair Employment and Housing in the state of California against Tesla and fifty defendants at the company. In discussing the court case and the several years of investigation which led to it, we will be discussing racism in the workplace, including the allegations of widespread use of racial slurs, racist imagery and racist graffiti, in addition to the allegedy overtly racially-motivated discrimination in the work place by the defendents against black and/or African American employees and contractors at Tesla’s various Californian facilities.

To properly cover this, portions of filed court papers containing examples of all of the above will be shared in this video. Those of you watching with younger audience members may wish to review this content first.

I had to unsubscribe from another EV channel because they were so dismissive and made everything out to be some grand conspiracy against Tesla. That they felt that such behaviour was to be expected in a plant that big. Tesla's mission statement maybe about transitioning the world to sustainable energy. But if it is not a just transition that includes the needs and the dignity of indigenous people and people of colour, it is a transition that is guaranteed to fail.

Great job on a story Unfortunately People like that do not change their spots The best way to deal with people like that and 2022 is not to buy none of his products is products the best way to hurt hurt people like him is in the pocket book cause all dollars mean something And remember this is just the tip of the iceberg just imagine what hes doing in space sex solar city the boron company I guess we should take a word from his own people and he should go back to africa South Africa

Sycophant fan-boys and a fawning media gave Musk, and Tesla by extension, the impression that they could do no wrong and the rules didn't apply to them. But they have been a mainstream car maker for 10 years now. They are no longer a novelty, and you see a Tesla as often as you see a Honda or Toyota. As they have grown, they have just become a bigger target. While the company seems to have taken steps to improve the situation in recent years, it may be too little, too late. Effective leadership would have prevented this. Company culture is just as important as the product.

A fair and balanced reporting of known information. Keep up the amazing journalistic standards you have set. Tesla wants the obvious reputation for being on the forefront of the EV industry and recognized for it's achievements then it had better act like an industry leader it wishes to be.

Incredibly well done and researched – thanks so much for this. And as someone who has lived my entire life in the East Bay, I had no idea about the wretched past at the GM factory. But most importantly, the statements from Elon Musk are reprehensible in his utter lack or empathy, responsibility, and accountability. The man is tone deaf and it is beyond time for him to step down as CEO of Tesla.

Fantastic report on a terrible topic.

Elon musk has to personally step in to make this a priority to make all Tesla factories a work friendly environment and get rid of the racists. I am very disappointed with Tesla at this time even though I am a Tesla fan. This has got to stop now.! Excuse the pun but I believe Elon musk has to just bite the bullet.Again in our judicial system you’re innocent until proven guilty but it all looks very damning.

First off I would just like to thank you for all your reviews for electric vehicles both domestic and foreign all across the world it’s one of the top YouTube channels I’ll come to to get a good honest review instead of just having somebody shill for a company, but I know I’m gonna get some hate when I say this for the next part.

If the allegations against Tesla are true then they really need to step it up, but honestly I’m not even halfway done with this video and it seems like there’s so much blatant racism in this lawsuit it honestly seems false where are the pictures of the evidence where are the audio recordings of people openly calling them racial slurs, I really want evidence because it genuinely sounds like this is a fabricated thing just to get money I mean i’ve never seen this many racial slurs before and that’s all I’m saying and it just seems very like, well I mean it’s like it’s a dictionary of just racial slurs that have been dumped out

Elon Musk is slowly slipping to the right now that Tesla’s dominance in the EV space is in danger. He has made several disparaging tweets against Joe Biden for not being “recognized” as leaders in the EV space. Great video, very unbiased, much appreciated.

Racism will never end. As long as dark-skinned people (Africans, African Americans, etc.) do not unite and develop their countries and/or communities to be at the same level as those of the Japanese and Germans, it will never end. People rarely mistreat you if you are coming from a position of strength and power. If you are Japanese and are being mistreated at Tesla, you can always change companies and work at Toyota, Panasonic, Sony, etc. In short, people can't mistreat you when your options are many. Even if they do, you can always up and leave. Africans and African Americans have limited options. I am an African so I know.
