I was in a friend's mum's car on the way to a school astronomy trip and she was driving with just one hand grasping the dead bottom of the wheel. She drifted into the gravel on the shoulder, overcorrected and almost send the car fully off the road… and it was a dead straight road with no other cars in sight. What an exciting experience.
So true John. I had someone cut me off at an intersection and I did 1,2,3,4, and 5 then managed to do a severe left into the turn lane, followed by a severe right to my lane and didn't look at the car cutting me off, but both hands on the wheel and 3 seconds later I was back in my lane and avoided the crash. I like to add rule number 7, stay off the horn and waving and flipping someone off, the time a person spends, 2 -4 seconds honking the horn can be used to avoid a crash.
Fast drivers – safe drivers.
Slow drivers – unsafe drivers.
Drive fast or don't drive at all.
Driving education courses in the USA still teach students to hold the steering wheel incorrectly at 10 and 2. To add insult to injury, this nonsense is being taught to young drivers.

Drugged drivers, Drunk drivers, Sleepy drivers – DEAD DRIVERS
Hooray! Finally someone with enough wedding vegetables to publicly say car crashes are not accidents. Then goes on to justify that true statement with a definition of an accident. I have even spoken to senior police officers and had them berate me for saying car crashes are not accidents. Our stupid state Govt in SA calls the road safety agency the Motor Accident Commission. Sheesh! The one who repair crashed cars call themselves crash Repairers or Collision Repairers or Panel Repairers. I have yet to see one calling their business Accident Repairs.
In the end, the tactic to employ in driving situation shall ultimately be anticipation of others' intentions.
