A bit of old-school vloggage where I explain why I’m selling my KTM, and *totally* give away the game about what is hopefully next between my legs. I also chat about my new touring plans for the year, as well as a beef I appear to have with a certain motorbike manufacturer…

interesting! I have been thinking about swapping the Triumph Tiger 1200 RE for the Ducati Diavel V4 but would wait for the S version…if it comes out….partly on the back of your review! The pendulum of big adventure bikes begins to swing the other way..?

I was literally in the exact same situation with my 2019 SAS, wanting a MT10 SP to turn into a sport tourer. I absolutely could not get a Yamaha dealer in the states to get me a MT10 SP though. Me, being 5'8" on a good day ended up with a 2021 890 Duke R and a bunch of Hepco and Becker luggage. It worked for 6 months until I got the ADV bug again. I now have a 2010 990 Adventure that sits beside the 890.

But… Now I want a MT10 SP again, thanks a lot😂. I personally think it compares more to the Superduke GT than to the true super nakeds. Puig screen, hand guards, and some panniers should do it. Probably still a little lighter than the GT at that point.

What's the fuel range like on the mt10 boyo? Re Welsh Roads.. Head towards Rhyder and the Elan Valley area in mid Wales. If you've not done the road around Lynn Brianne and the devil's staircase that is amazing. Cycle path 81 (it's a mountain road) and the roads around the a470 and Sarn Helen are great.

So agree on the he / she sentiments! When I got my 1290 my firends & family asked what I would name it? I said "KTM", if you really want one – how about Katy? har har.

Regarding changing bikes – I'm torn. I got into your channel because I got a 1290 and had never owned a KTM. I currently have (and had prior to the KTM) a Yamaha FZ09, so I'm pretty much exactly in your opposite position. You'll spend thousands and thousands on luggage and windscreen fixes for the MT10. At the end of the day you're paying for that engine and it doesn't have too many other bells and whistles – especially if you can't get the SP version, you won't get any electronic suspension. You will effectively be going back to the stone age with the MT10. Just me 2 cents.

I would say – the MT10 is a street machine scapel. The KTM offers SO MUCH MORE as an all around motorcycle and especially for touring. The Yamaha will be fun as well, but you'll outgrow it in 1.5 years again mark my words. Good luck.
