I fell for his game but was able to put up boundaries albeit weak, that got stronger my first therapy session marriage therapy which I did under guise of abuse therapy to hide from him worked in my best interest the doctor told me he was a covert narcissist I was a codependent. Walking on eggshells lastly he beat me up I got out filed for divorce, restraining orders which he violated continuously, any way going no contact from the event is the only way to get peace,
When brainwashing starts from birth an awareness of self never develops. Sometimes 50 years later we may be able to say, "I am."
If they just acted like a normal person they could have the attention they seek. Why is it that they take the gas lighter route? Is it that they do not want to give and receive real love and attention? What is the deficit? I was with the same woman for 10 years and I knew something was off in our communications but I do believe now that she has been gaslighting me the whole time and yes I admit I am a recovering co-dependent. In my mind I took it as moodiness, emasculation and and a lot of invalidation. Accusations of cheating and frivolous things were said and contested many times. I am an Engineer by trade so I have a sound logical mind, but she was able to wordsmith a lot of things which we would argue about. I do not like to argue about pointless or tiny things so I would concede. Something about the last 8-9 months has shed the light on what was going on and I left. I wonder if she was the one cheating now that I have been educating myself on this topic.

Interesting some call themselves Christians and they gaslight others.
How do you address Munchhausen by Proxy in the gas-lighting and abuse? Is a parent ( usually mother) with Munchhausen by proxy a narcissistic person? These parents are very difficult to deal with.
Gaslighting is not necessarily done behind the scenes. Notice what the mainstream media, politicians, and others are doing right out in the public today. Totally gaslighting.
