and after watching this "expose'e" you go out and buy a battery operated TURD you deserve to pay $42,000 so the dealer principal offspring may attend a prestigious private school
"Mitsubishi" are you fu*&ing kidding me people really, you expected better than this
(by the way considering the depth of discharge and rate of charge this life span is expected from lithium battery systems and is completely normal)
sadly the company has "BANGED YOU" good luck & hire a legal team
Tata Defender 2021 model – ha ha – yes of course it is really a Disco with an Identity – maybe dubious parentage – issue… Thanks Tata Motors for this very capable but fragile vehicle. ??Support only until update number 6, or some such – a-la the modern computing device model.
Lefty here too (Happen to have a MechEng Degree too for what it is worth – possibly just one of my many faults.) – But a Serrated blade on a leatherman type tool is not meant for delicate work – so doesn't matter, it os for hacking through a tough rope or (worst case – and wrong tool) seatbelt, other criticism mat be valid – but we learn to use tools in their current configuration or we don't get very far in their use…
John,
I have a Outlander PHEV 2014 model with 120,000km on it. At about 90,000km Mitsubishi replaced the battery which was at 70% capacity. I'm lead to believe the issue is with the battery management system rather than the cells. The system algorithm shows battery degradation beyond what is actual. My battery didn't show additional range after it was replaced but my driving style does improve the predicted and actual range. I don't think the dealer reset the BMS correctly when the battery was replaced. There is a reset technique circulating within the PHEV community which has varying success.
I think it's a good car but my Prius is a much better car. Lobe my 2004 Prius.
Cheers,
Pat Sparks
That story with the lady with the keys and open window was funny, it brought back a funny story of mine from about 6 years ago, this older gentleman walked into the garage and asked me if i could find out why his car will not start. I was busy that day but i said yes no problem, he lived around 15 mins walk away. I said to him jump in and i will run you down with me. In the short drive i asked for any detail that may give me a clue as to the problem, he said his son had borrowed the car and it wont start now. I got there and found the car was in gear (manual gearbox) so i pulled it into neutral and it started. The man looked at me and said what was wrong? I said it was in gear, it has to be in neutral if you press the brake or just push the clutch. I explained it was a safety feature and he just said he didnt know as he never leaves it in gear. And no i didnt charge him.
Most buyers would insist on a detailed longitudinal cost-effectiveness analysis from solar-panels providers before committing to a modest $5-15k roof set-up instillation cost ………..and almost all solar panels providers do provide such cost-effectiveness analysis
By contrast, the fucked up hybrid or EV car industries never ever provide a longitudinal cost-effectiveness analysis across a range of annual uses…..and sadly, most buyers of hybrid or EV cars don't bother insisting on the provision of one.
It would appear such hybrid / EV car buyers have more money than what to do with
.
Why do all of these large companies reneg on their warranty rights when the shit hits the fan. If they can’t make a product to survive the warranty period as stated then they shal pay. So is Mitsubishi going to live up to the 10 year warranty ? If they state this crap then you shouldn’t need a lawyer to read the fine print for you.
