She was hoping to determine what factors might have led to Dahmer killing 17 young men. A judge later ordered his brain cremated as well at the request of Dahmer’s father, Lionel.

If you can’t find any sympathy for Jeffrey Dahmer then you’re a part of the problem.
I hated her mother more than Jeff.
The parents were depressed and neglected their son. You cannot have kids and neglect giving them love and attention. The lack of socializing, love, and affection has a HUGE impact on a child and will result to horrible outcomes as an adult.
Did they not know back then this wouldn’t do much. His brain had issues because of his mothers pill problem, because of his pare stent abuse and neglect. He probably didint start out with a lack of empathy and even if he had healthy parents could have helped.

Jeffrey was fucked up because his parents didn't give a damn about him and his dad didn't help at all with the road kill and dissecting of beings. Obviously that isn't an excuse for what he did but it didn't help.
Considering his mom was mentally ill and a majority of conditions were not thoroughly researched until the late 1990’s makes me feel for her. She never got the help she deserved, just fed continually more drugs and made out to be a complete psychopath. The dad deserves far worse criticism. Performing an autopsy on road kill has never been normal, and at that time time it was feeding deeper into Jeff’s emphatic desires to kill than any parental issues.

Honestly disagree with the father on this one. His brain should have been studied. It’s obvious he was a fucked up individual but it could’ve have been very beneficial on understanding what can “cause” such awful behavior.
