My dad always told me "If you can count how many times you've fallen off, then you can't ride". I think this was more relevant to dirt riding but I think it still holds true in some aspects of road riding – if you don't exceed your limitations how can you ever expect to surpass them.
Guess I'm lucky to have a scene that has multiple elderly riders 50+ female who are beast squids on the street, track and stunt gods.

I’m glad I found this. As a beginner learner, I’ve heard many of these maxims before and thought most of bs to a degree. Especially the loud pipe one. I honestly thought too “Just own that you want loud pipes”, cause that’s what I want. Awesome to see a seattle moto channel too! I don’t see many Washington riders
