As a kid, it always made me cringe to hear other people drive my dad's manual equipped car. I could hear the engine note from the house and people (family or friends) never fail to rev it higher than needed from a dead stop. Then they'd drag the clutch after shifting to 2nd. My dad drove his manual car such that it sounded like an automatic moving from a dead stop.

It is a true skill nowadays to drive manual. I drive an auto rn and even before I found my love for manual transmissions I always knew that it was a skill. Auto boys just don't understand that

A nice smooth shift is like proper contact with a golf ball. And it is rhythm. Just like the man says.

As a teen just learning to drive, this was one of the most helpful videos I’ve found. Now I won’t have to worry about ruining my dad’s clutch!

A stick shift car talks to u. Let’s u know if somethings wrong. Gives u full control of situations. Not for lazy people.

My step dad drove trucks for 20 yrs and taught me the concept of double clutch, and rev matching.

do they teach you in racing school to turn the wheel using your right hand "underhanded"? It seems like that is not only more difficult but dangerous.

Imagine if 100% of cars were manual, how much better everyone’s skill would be, less “distracted” and better it would be out there.
