Good on ya for making this one Mark, 'cus really one of the biggest problems with mental health issues, particularly in us guys, is that people just don't sit down and talk about it, and that's when things build and build until they become real issues. People underestimate the power of a simple chat
Wonderful discussion.Β Thanks for sharing with "us blokes". π
I was having panic attacks a few years ago and I'd never experienced them before. My attacks came at night, bed time I have to wear a CPAP, and in water. I've cut my carbs in a big way and upped my physical activity (which is difficult with OTJ injuries from firefighting) and it has helped me as well. Being adopted I don't know my medical history which doesn't help much. My brother, who was adopted as well killed himself a few years ago by drowning and I suspect that is where the water thing came into play. Ms Wolf is a psychiatrist here in the states and I didn't tell her for a long time which was not a smart move on my part. She knew something was wrong when I had attacks with the CPAP.
Guys great video. Ive spent mamy years when i was younger dealing with anxioty attacks (panic attacks). I learned to manage them with breathing techniques sitting and relaxing bye talking myself through knowing what they are. Also i found when my body and mind where tired and worn down i was most volnerable. Also when i still drank alchohol i would be more suseptable to them after drinking. Im 51 now havent used in 10 years and havnt had an attack in many years now. Thanks for sharing, big thumbs up.
