And now a study from the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behaviour, at the University of California, Los Angeles, has proven that riding is, in fact, very good for your mental health. –

The only reason why I ride is to make myself feel better. No one can give me earache when I'm wearing my helmet.

Been riding 43 years, it's my freedom, my zen , my time away from problems, can't imagine life without a motorcycle . Probably would have gone mental or had a breakdown.πŸ˜¬πŸπŸπŸπŸβ€οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘Š

Depressed, down, feeling shit? What's wrong with you people? I always feel fine.
The stress starts with riding my motorcycle, because of those idiot cagers, who wants to kill me!

To me this finding is obvious. I've always felt better, both mentally and emotionally, after a ride, even in bad weather. Isn't this why we ride anyway?

That is always why I have a bike.I passed car test in 78,and,bike in 79.My parents bought me a Austin A40 for me to become one of the sheep.Bought a Triumph Bonneville T140 soon after.Since then I have owned many bikes.Unfortunately,I still have to own a grocery getter.Forty years on I own a Honda VFR1200x , and loving every minute of it.I definitely agree with the analysis.I hope you ,and your family are well.Keep turning out your great vids.H&R.

Been struggling with depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation for a long, long time. My father-in-law gave me his Honda Shadow VT750 just before he suddenly passed away 3 years ago; it was his first motorcycle and now my first motorcycle. I started seeing a therapist (on a short break due to changing jobs/insurance) but nothing quiets the "noise" better than just being out on two wheels. Nothing. Drugs, drink, sex, hurting myself, driving too fast with real loud music in the car, doing dangerous work on the job, nothing. I always feel a good bit better when I'm really down, and when I'm already in a good place, I feel great! I totally get the low-impact exercise and increased brain activity benefits. It's nice to have a little science back up what I've been saying since I started riding Day 1: Motorcycles changed my life. Be safe out there y'all.

Riding my bike used to make me feel free, happy, exhilarated and at peace… I miss it, but no longer have a licence ☹
