Sure, the bright pink Fiat Multipla got us to Devon and back, but only just. I’m just not sure I have the motivation or desire to try and bring this one back from the brink. Anyone else fancy it?

My 2016 Astra started doing this. Cold it was fine. Warmed up, reverse would refuse. Not too bad. But it got to the point where gears were hard to get in, unless you turned the engine off, put in gear, then restarted, while moving! Doing that while driving wasn't ideal. The final day I lost patience the pedal dropped and had to be dragged back up. The car was literally biting and pulling with the clutch all the way down, sat in traffic! Vauxhall replaced the slave cylinder under warranty as apparently they were inherently defective from Day 1. Probably plastic crap from China, no doubt. Only 40,000 miles too!
Three of my cars have had clutch issues. My 1964 Ford Falcon wagon, then my 1985 Mazda 929 coupe and, the latest, my 1969 Alfa 1750 Berlina. I’m getting good at changing clutch master and slave cylinders. I always do both and any flexible line in the system so I know its all good.
Let's face it, it's trying to commit suicide.
I was in Llandudno earlier this week and there was a Multiple parked in front of the Dunoon Hotel. Those high level headlights really do look peculiar in real life.
Compared to some of your projects, its not a huge amount of work, really, its more rectifying a few area`s that have suffered neglect over a few years.. Personally, I`d change the clutch master & slave (with a metal OE one), & pray that the clutch itself was ok, & the box hadn't suffered irreparable damage because of long term actuation issues, but, I appreciate your mojo is off now (I can feel it), & you have limited space to put it aside till you feel ready for it, so, up to you mate.. Genuinely sorry its not gone to plan.
Barra swap it?
Silicone based Dot 5 brake fluid is often a Quick fix for worn clutch master/slave cylinders. It is more viscous than DOT 3/4 and seals a bit better. Works for about a year or so.
poo car lol
Was that one way valve reliable enough?
Perhaps it sucked air in still.
