Unfortunately, there are too many Harley riders who's main concerns are image, ego and attitude. A large number of these folks aren't really in the sport of motorcycling for the love of riding, but instead, for the love of the biker culture. To each his/her own, though. Whatever. Not my concern. Shouldn't be yours. If you're into riding, then there are plenty of riders out there who are safe, practical, and enthusiastic about actually getting on the bike and going somewhere other than a bar.

Some people are not secure/happy enough in their choice of ride without crapping on others. Nobody craps on someone for riding the same bike they do- they do it to draw contrast as to validate their own choices. This behavior most commonly resembles brand loyalty, and is ridiculous because A) whatever qualities one's ride has that someone else's doesn't it again outshined by yet another's and B) a brand that can do nothing to lose your money owes you nothing, much less a quality product.

I hate "group think". It's not just bikers it's everywhere. Any sport you can name. Any human endeavor you can name. The "us vs them mentality". That is why I'm not a joiner. It's childish BS. I just do my own thing and leave the BS to the club mentality idiots.

Start some rides across the country. Maybe start in some bigger city’s (outskirts of the city) Have an entry fee for a charity. It’s starts with your Chanel. People look up to you and I know you can build some good rides for a good cause

Dan Dan Dan. You aren't wrong about the gear or the gap between old school and not old school, sportster and import bike riders vs bagger riders. Seriously, you aren't wrong. The thing is, where in fire fighter circles the old nurture the young, bikers aren't like that. You are at a different station in life than the older guys (myself included) are. The thing is, trust and respect are paramount. Until you are introduced or become familiar, they will push you off. Seniors in high-school don't hang with freshmen. One day, you'll grow into their status. Take this experience and try not to alienate the next young riders coming in behind you. If you want to step up with those old hats, catch one early at the bar and approach him. Befriend him, and learn from him. He may not be open to this, and time is your friend, but us old hats won't come to you. It's just the way it is.
Ride strong, be true to yourself, and always stand your own ground.

I just got a 750 ACE . I had a 360t back in 78 never rode with more than a full face bell and denim. I just got this bike after 40 years without. I now have full gear and always ride wth it on. With that said my 2 boys 25 & 28 and my wife of 35 years want me to sell it. I live in NW South Carolina and the roads are sooo nice. I watch all your videos to learn and I am reg in a course in March. Should I give in and sell

Nah man people are still buying cruisers we're just not buying Harley! Just got my first bike yesterday! 2020 Vulcan 900 Classic, it was either that or the Suzuki M50 but when I saw them I realized the Vulcan was the bigger bike so I chose that. Harley was NEVER even on my mind when I was shopping

My dad rode with a big group of guys in the 70's…and the group had everything from custom three wheelers to cafe bikes to baggers from yamaha to harley…and the group was tight
