I understand where your reference points come from . I have experienced similar things before. I think you're reading too much into other people's negativity. Nothing wrong with being a weekend Warrior either. Whenever someone Belittles your sportster calling it a girl's bike just laugh with them give them a thumbs up say yeah your right needle Dick! I've had to ride a 49 CC gas powered bicycle Is my main transportation for a couple years. It was a top of the line build Made to Mimic American classic with a low rider paint job . I would get hated on all the time by dudes on clapped out junk of all kinds.

Most "old school" riders got their first bike in their 30s (totaly fine). But then they trash on all other bikes, and never wave back.

I respect everything on 2 wheels but that's just me and I gear up and I don't give a fuck about what everybody thinks
I am in a rider group and they respect me for wearing gear but are constantly chiding me to get a louder exhaust (I have a BMW K1200LT which basically sounds like George Jetson's car).
Most harleys are junk anyways, my opinion but I ride with alot of harley riders, when you ride you ride doesn't matter what it is, alot of ppl hate my bike but so what they aren't riding it but they respect it
