It’s your Constitutional Rights to record your government.
The 1st Amendment protects your Right to record.
Do not ever allow someone to attempt to say that you doing your constitutional rights is not polite.
Polite is following the Constitution
Just be mindful that the Supreme Court ruled that police do have the right to ask you to get out of your vehicle once you have committed a violation driving or otherwise. Refusal to do so can get you arrested! So an officer telling you to open the door might be a grey area however all the officer need to do is say get out of the truck hoping you refuse and then you will be arrested for failure to comply with a Lawful Command by a peace officer. Before you stand up for your rights triple check that you are correct and that you are correct in the State you are traveling in.
