Start by setting up comfortably in your chair or laying down. Breathe in through your nose for four seconds hold for seven seconds and release through your mouth for eight seconds. Repeat this about six times. Get a feel and really tailor it to your body. That way you can do it on your own whenever.
One of the common misconceptions about mindfulness is that your mind is supposed to be completely silenced while practicing. That could not be more far from the truth. Simply let the thoughts fly. Intrusive thoughts, positive negative thoughts, things like that. Let it run and just except that your mind is thinking that way in the current moment.
