Mental health in men is a subject that I feel strongly about. I want to support men in any way that I can to show them that life can be tough but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Steve is a great example of someone who has been some extremely tough times in recent years but has come out the other side feeling good purely because he had something to focus his mind on. He bought his old Renault Meganne RS with a few issues but spent his spare time doing repairs and getting it to the condition that it is in today.

I would strongly recommend that if you’re feeling down for any reason, one thing you are fully in control of is being productive, I would suggest putting energy into achieving something. When I say being productive I don’t mean playing computer games, that will only keep your mind busy, you need something that will give you the feeling of achievement. This could be going to the gym and aiming for simple targets at like 5 reps, then 6 reps of a certain weight on each exercise or 1k on the treadmill then 2k and so on. Other great examples of achievement are learning things like maybe a language, boxing or swimming or even a skill of some kind such as video editing. Your brain needs to be constantly satisfied. All of the examples that I’ve mentioned are near-on free. Steve’s approach was more of a hobby based focus, and to some people a costly approach. But for Steve his old Renault Meganne RS was the perfect thing to give him that feeling of achievement.

My car is a big part of my mental health therapy, I suffer from chronic depression and Boarderline personality disorder working on my mk2 focus st and going to car shows has helped me massively. Going through a rough time at the moment with my dad being ill with dementia and having a £900 repair bill on my car.

As someone who had a standard petrol version of one of these as my first car can say that I had those squares on my door card. Also could not help but laugh about Calvin's comment about whether the passenger window works – mine stopped working 1 month into ownership 😂😂
