Here is a typical example of a day I couldn’t be doing with…….until I got out on a bike. I ask the question, what would happen to my mental health if I didn’t have motorbikes in my life?

I find at this time of year, everything is governed by the weather and yes how greasy the roads maybe. We Bikers sort of lose our ability to be properly free at this time of year which can be demotivating. Look forward to the Spring and fro now, the occasional dry, crisp morning. Perhaps get motivated by saving on garage costs and learn some home maintenance while its cold and wet?

  2. Life, not as the crow flies

I've been riding on and off since 1989 and yes I've had close calls but without motorcycling I'd be putting money into therapy. I can't ride more than 7 months a year but those 7 months are bliss.

Good to hear your thoughts!..your definitely not alone as far as motorcycles being an essential part of life!. And with good clothing (ie heated!) I'm out all year round. I've been riding bikes forever, but get the same utter joy and contentment now being on the bike as when I started. Can't wait to head back to Ireland this year…do you think April is a good time to visit…? Cheers Steve

It’s -5c here where I live and I hope to get out this weekend on my FJR but those motorcycle tires sure take a while to heat up. I love your GS Dave and thinking one day I might make the leap. I would be a poser as I would never go anywhere near a place that might scratch the paint. Enjoy and think of all of the others that are riding on the back waiting for nice weather.

I really enjoyed this vlog, especially when you said "we all seem to have the same fundermental wiring loom", what a wonderful way of putting it. My FJR is always ready to go at a moments notice and just knowing that is enough some days. Take care and congratulations on the 5K!

Here's another transplant from TMF and I must say that his shout-out to your channel was more than justified. Your love for 2 wheels is palpable on all your videos. Being from snowy Canada, I really enjoy being a passenger on your rides around your country side. Keep up the excellent work. πŸ‘πŸοΈπŸΈ

Another great vlog. I suffer from bipolar disorder. I took up motorcycling last year riding a 125 all year and passed my test in December πŸ˜€ motorcycling has transformed my health no end. I am motivated and full of beans 70% of the time. The bike makes me feel alive I absolutely love it .. wished I had took my test 30 years ago .shows its never to late to make the change . So looking forward to 2022 adventures πŸ˜€

    Cheers

Hello from the States, Dave. Congratulations on reaching 5k subscribers.

First, I just want to let you know that I am really enjoying your videos. While they have all been good, I especially enjoyed your videos featuring a location and bit of local history.

I am a fellow GS rider (a 2021 1250 GSA, actually). As you said, it is a do-everything well motorbike.

I have just started trying to record some video using a GoPro Hero 9 using a chin-mounted setup. I have not purchased the Maxi lense you mentioned, so I plan to re-watch your videos to learn more about what that provides. I noticed your response to a comment indicating that you may do a refresh of your video setup. I am looking forward to you doing this.

Finally, I agree with you and the folks who have commented — we bikers are all wired similarly.

    Cheers!

Thanks for this. For me, regardless of the pastime, sometimes the hardest part is getting out the door. I sometimes lie to myself and say β€œjust get it started and go for a little bimble down the lane and back.” And four hours later I’m back in the garage with a huge smile on my face.
