One of the first revelations I received was that God was actively involved in my life, even to the smallest detail. Because of this, I didn't need to be concerned with whether or not He heard my prayer, He already knew and was working out what was best for me, even if what I was going through was painful. I experienced great peace with praying, "not my will but thine be done".

Recently someone told me that it is a lack of faith to pray this way. That we should plead all our wants and ask for healing and prosperity in every way, for ourselves and anyone we are ministering to.

Interestingly, scripture does seem to support both persistence in making requests AND surrendering to His will completely.

I would prefer to surrender all areas of my life to the Father, trust that He is working it all out and let Him decide what is best for me.

    Am I wimping out?
