Following #WorldMentalHealthDay, I take a look at the masculine environment within Formula 1 and how this has effected how everyone with F1 views mental health.

Brilliant video! Mental health is so important! As you say, we have to remember that these guys and girls working in Formula 1 as drivers, engineers etc. are all human. Therefore, we need to put ourselves in their shoes to get an idea of how tough it is to work in such a fast-paced industry (literally and metaphorically 😂)
Ahh the Romain hate really makes me sad – such a beautiful human he don't deserve the hate 🙁
Another thing I’ve noticed in mental health is they’re seems to be this issue in society especially in the 18 to 24 yr bracket is where if you haven’t achieved x y and z before you are 25 you are deemed a failure which I think is completely stupid there’s so much pressure on the younger generation to perform at a very high standard I think this reflects on why there’s a lot more cases on mental health problems among other things which is why it’s such a complex subject
I don't understand how people feel it's right to do nothing but abuse people on social media. I have the utmost respect for anybody who has any social media presence and doesn't feel like just packing it in when you see some of the posts they get.
I'm so pleased that mental health has been getting a spotlight in F1, especially from McLaren. As you said, there is a massive stigma around talking about it, especially from men. I hope it continues beyond Mental Health Day.
Great video and good work regarding the Luke Smith article 👍
The Greta look is passé. The rest of the video is just the usual female F1 tripe.
What can I say about this video?
It's content is valuable, that's how important the way you've presented this subject is.
I wish I had known you were making this as there's an incident you could have referenced which was a massive thing in 2018.
As a bloke who's suffered from mental health issues in the past, I think it can be great to be able to talk about it. But on the flip side my father is an old skool hard working guy, and when I was going through some of my toughest times rather then talk he'd be like come on we're going digging post holes or some hard physical work on the farm, and you'd be so exhausted you'd get a break from your brain, and a sense of being productive makes you feel better. I guess because I've heard people refer to that as sort of toxic masculinity, i don't like the term, because sometimes just blocking it out, working hard, giving your brain a rest from all those thoughts with someone who cares about you is as good or better then talking. Sometimes that nod from a mate that says i know times are tough and I'm here for you can mean more then hours of talking. I think talking is great and needs to be incouraged, but also sometimes the blokey way works too. Both have their place and if the blokey way works for you the last thing you want is to feel guilt for not talking…
Great video on another important topic within the motorsports community. Improvements are being made as the community becomes more progressive, but there are a lot of "old guard" that are doing more harm than good. Superb work as always 👏👏👏
