I can't argue against everything he said… But then I am neither pro ICE, hybrid or EV.
You say if the US went all EV for light duty vehicle oil imports would drop 30-60% and transport emissions would drop 20%, but did you know transport emissions are only about 28% of total emissions so you are only reducing 20% of the 28% so emissions will fall from 28% to 22.4% or there about, which is not much of a saving for all the damage to the environment to mine the lithium and other heavy metals for batteries and solar panels. Did you know that simply replacing all the US coal fired power stations with nuclear would reduce total emissions by 60% while leaving ICE vehicles alone, a much simpler cleaner option
Getting an EV later this month. I think ICE cars will stay, however with Efuels eventually replacing gasoline.
wouldn't a ALTERNATOR help MAXIMIZE recharge & miles
battery is charged by section?
My dad lives near Kona. Lovely place. His house is solar and the kilowatt per hour cost of grid power is high, so an electric car makes less sense for him. I’m in IL where electricity’s cheap so I hope to switch soon. Love the speed and love filling up for peanuts every night in my carport.
Well Scottie, to be safe, long lasting, increase ranged and faster charging times this will slow the full acceptance of the EV. I remember when Eisenhower promoted travel across the US! That was a great time for me. Kids these days travel across the city! To go across America they take a jet! Just wait til they go to battery power!!
To answer the question, I’m for EV (but love the internal combustion engine) but would like it better if there was a global energy transmission site like Nikola Tesla had envisioned! That way no charging stations, no burning of fossil fuels and they’d be safer.
Where's the lie?
all the cars i have had (traditional gas cars) have way more dependability then the Ev and hybrids. towing is better, safety better, affordable to refuel and go the distance, and not everyone has a garage or carport to put a car to protect battery from weather drain. if someone gave me a brand new electric car i would most likely trade or sell it for a traditional car.
Scotty, love your channel!!! I have a question, what do you think about hydo- powered cars?? Do you think this technology should be explored and possibly surpass the electric car idea?? Would love to hear what you think. Take care!
I like the chevy volt design with a gas engine to run an alternater to charge the battery. Too bad the four seater is a non-starter for me.
