Why do you recommend refering to the tire pressure by the vin and not on the tire? If you go and get different tires that are rated differently wouldnt using the bikes tire pressure cause uneven wearing you mentioned?

LOL on my first and longest ride in Sept 2019 it was a 4 hour ride and when I got home I was tired, I shut the bike off and I thought I put the stand down I went through the motions with my foot putting the side stand or jiffy stand for Harley's and just leaned the bike over on its stand so I thought and to my horror the bike kept falling and I dropped the bike….

  3. Brian Lowery

Idk if you covered this later in the video yet but I will say make sure you are in neutral before you get off you bike preferably before the side stand goes down…. and pull in the clutch while you are starting the bike…. all of this is just so your bike doesn’t take off unexpectedly when you go for your next ride

Man not a lie but I learn how to ride just watching your videos I started in a R6

When Dan said engine parts are hot, I laughed cuz I have owned my bike for a week and have already burned my finger (I was putting the bike cover on and my hand brushed the muffler – I have learned my lesson, wait to put cover on until bike is cooled off).

Hey brother, love your videos. I'm looking for gear, where did you get the gloves you use?

  7. Commander Alderson

What first time motorcycles riders should know is that if you drop the bike its not the end of the world and no one cares! So don't lock yourself up in that stupid fear and go for a ride. Now!

  8. Cosmo

Common sense is not so common! But great tips thank you. I'm working towards getting a bike license as well!

  9. Raymond Chan

Very thankful for your video. Can you please make one that shows how you shift gears and also the clutch movement..

    Hey @Dandanthefireman
Im looking to buy a motorcycle
Im sort of a beginner but not really
    Let me explain
Ive driven manual transmission vehicles all my life. I learned to drive on a 1961 international pickup 3 on the tree. Every vehicle I have owned in 25 years have been manual transmission. So I know how to use the clutch. Ive ridden ATV's that are semi automatic and I have ridden a few motorcycles. A rebel 250 and a Honda cb360 many years ago both manual.
I also have good common sense knowledge of most things I can and can not do on a motorcycle.
Most of your videos and other instructor videos I watch like MCrider. To me its like well thats common sense. For example
The video on going from pavement to gravel you have to slow way down before entering the gravel. Not saying I dont learn anything from the videos. Most of it seems to me as common sense. Being alert and looking way ahead. I do that now in my vehicles.
What Im getting at is Im looking at a Harley Sportster 1200. But then I see MCrider say get a Rebel 500.
Im pretty sure your first motorcycle was a Harley 1200. With your experience starting on the 1200. Whats your opinion on which bike I should purchase.
Im still looking into a MSF course for begginers also.
