This is the first of a planned monthly Harley-Davidson Sportster focused channel. I am especially excited about a potential Milwaukee-Eight Sportster, which must be coming soon! This month the ‘first bit’ is ‘Harley-Davidson Sportster: Rise and Fall… and Rise. I look at whether Harley are planning to release a new Sportster at all and, if so, will it be a Milwaukee-Eight design, or a Revolution Max (like the Pan American, Custom and Street Fighter)? If it’s a RevMax design, will the new Sportster be replaced with the Custom?

In My Bike and Me, I will also reveal how my own XL1200CA has been fairing these last three years and 25,000 miles: the good, the bad and the ugly. Rust issues have surfaced, battery problems, oil leak, bike balance, and many others. I also changed the Mustang seat and the Drag Specialties bars.

Also featured are Other People and their Bikes. Here I talk to people on all sorts of bikes and discover their stories. I find a genuine CHiPs Kawasaki KZ1000P (California Highway Patrol) and a remarkable Suzuki GT500 – that’s just for starters!

Finally, in Readers’ Letters, I talk about me, Anna, my bike, and riding generally. I also explain a little of my own mental health battles against depression, and how riding is a useful psychological tool in my mental health strategies. I also answer some of your questions – and please note that no Tony Iommi’s were harmed to make this video…

Nice video Chris, very well researched with regards to the stuff at the beginning about the new Sportster motor… I knew some of that stuff, but not all. Thanks for the new info. By the way, I am also married to a wonderful woman called Anna. I think Anna's are the finest women, far superior to any other women, as they feature excellent ride plus top notch handling, plus they are cheap to run, and look fantastic 🙂 Good look with your new venture with regards to your channel. I've subbed, I wish you all the best.

Awesome 😎 I have been hooked on BLACK SABBATH Since the first time I heard them in 1974 at the age of 14. You really do sound like him 😂.
On another subject, we ( in the states ) are hearing the new sportster will get the new revolution max engine. Probably the 975 cc engine and that it will be water cooled though. We will have to wait & see. I subscribed so keep on riding & making videos. I like you know little about YouTube but my advice would be to keep the videos shorter than the current one. People’s attention spans are limited specially over here 🙄😆

Particularly enjoyed that first section on the Sportster mate. Let’s hope the Sportster continues in some form although if it doesn’t, the value of ours will only be on the up surely.

I'll take your word for it but those bars are pulled far too far back for my liking .

The ergonomic and comfort issues you describe with your sporty are all becoming unacceptable on my 2020 iron 883 which I picked up brand new as my very first motorcycle. Longer 13” rear shocks and a new seat are absolutely mandatory if I am to keep this bike! Greater reach to the handlebars may be in the works as well. I just hate to drop all that coin when I’m certain I’ll be wanting the new design whenever it finally arrives!
Btw, subbed and liked. Watched the entire video and loved it. Greetings from America.

I’ve started to think the custom 1250 could very well be announced as the next generation Sportster. I’ve got two reasons. The Sportster ended in Europe last year and rumor has it will end here this year leaving no Sportster in the lineup for the first time. The PanAm was introduced to compete in Europe against the likes of BMW where Adventures are big business. The XR1200 was originally introduced to appeal to the more sporty rider in Europe. I think they will announce two models. An XR1250 to piggy back on the reputation of the best handling Sportster of the outgoing line and a nightster 975 that will be the lightweight stripped down entry level machine.
