When counting data does the POS matter? For example I code for clinics with POS 11 and we can't count labs and other tests we bill out for that we do in house. But what about an Urgent Care POS 20 Would the same rules apply about not counting in house labs?

Hi Dr. Resnik does a referral count in the data reviewed?

Please tell should we take chronic conditions for E/M as per CMS list only.

Thank you Dr. Resnik, this was very helpful and informational. I'm curious when you mention doing a joint injection and indicated this was a low risk but wouldn't this fall under a moderate risk? You do have to sign the order for a prescription medication, cortisone for example. Rx medication management?

I was curious how you would score a preop clearance. The patient comes in to primary care provider office for surgical clearance for cataract surgery. Would you score the cataracts as Low or Moderate under the "Number and complexity of Problems addressed"? It's not as if the problem is exacerbated, but at the same time, it has not been treated.

Love your explanations. I'm a CPC and I felt I the need to brush up on the 2021 guidelines before taking the COBGC specialty exam since e/m is apart of it. This was perfect. Thank you.
