I have ZERO medical problems, yet the FAA medical section feels it necessary to screw me for something that is none of their business. A misdemeanor marijuana charge from TWENTY FIVE YEARS ago. That organization is a wall to wall fail. Just utterly horrible. If any of you pilots live in MA, DO NOT go and see Dr. Robert Wainer. He WILL screw you over by using ANY part of ANY conversation against you, regardless if you pass the actual medical. Just keep your mouths shut, and LIE on the questionnaire…..like everyone else.

A friend of mine has a mild case of ADHD, but he functions just fine, he’s on the lower end of spectrum. He tells me he’d rather not take the chance of getting denied by an AME and loosing all flying privileges and stick with getting a sports pilot license. What say you?
I've heard of special issuances for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Do you think it's possible to get a special issuance(and even a 1st class medical) if an Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency patient's oxygen saturation is 96-99%, no cirrhosis, no shortness of breath or emphysema, little to no cough or wheeze, and one case of pneumonia in their entire life?
