The BMW R NineT is one of the most expensive retro motorcycles on the market today, with the Option 719 being even more of a premium. Is it worth the price and is it the best retro motorcycle you can buy?
With a classic BMW boxer twin engine and great heritage styling the R NineT certainly embodies the retro name. In competition with the Kawasaki Z900RS and Triumph Speed Twin, can the BMW beat both of them.

Great review, and I agree, value for hard earned money is key.
The r ninet is beautiful, but not a bike I’d keep forever, the other two probably maybe definitely, lol

Welcome back Angus. Liking the new trim cool image. Hope you are doing ok.
It's been glorious riding weather. Hope you've managed to get out on your Speedy.
I don't doubt this R9T is a high quality motorcycle as you highlight, but I've struggled with the few BMW bikes I have ridden because of vibes, through the bars and pegs, really quite uncomfortable, so have decided they are not for me which is a shame as they make some nice looking bike. As you say there are just as capable rivals. I like the look of the Kawasaki Z900RS. Have sat on one, but never ridden one. The Triumph Speed Twin is a very capable bike.
Your jacket looks great. Is it made by Merlin?

Looks nice but don't you need to be 4ft 5 to ride these.

Retro? I do not think that word means what you think it means.

No. Not the best. Just boring to ride.

Good to see you back, I thought we were going to get a review of that bicycle…Lovely bike but I do wonder if BMW have priced it out of the market.

interesting, i found the speed twin more retro, BMW felt to refined to me to be retro, i ended up buying the speed twin because to me it felt a bit more old school than the BMW R Nine T and Kawasaki Z900RS

Good to see you back. For a few years, the NineT was absolutely top of my "want list". But a couple of years back, I tested one of these, and the Triumph 1200 Speed Twin and found that, not even taking the price difference into consideration, I preferred the Triumph. I found the BMW had a lot more vibration through the bars and I found the riding position didn't suit me. I felt as if I was perched on top of the NineT, whereas the Triumph felt much more natural and comfortable. To my mind, the Triumph is also the better looker. Another great review.
