Older riders? Well I am a so called older rider.
Started with 12y on a 50cc dirt bike, grow into 250cc dirt bike. Added when I was 18 a motorcycle license, and started on a 3 Zyl Kawa H1 Street riding. It becomes the H2 and then a Kawasaki Z 1. You figure out what year this happen. Well my last one was a Honda CBX 1000.
Than the wife, the kids became important and the bikes in the garage vanished one after the other. Needed space for the Van, push- and riding mower, garden tools the bicycles for the kids…….
When I was 48 I went back into riding, buying a Yamaha F-Z1 1000 without any practice. I know motorcycle riding. Right?
After I crashed the Yamaha, I assorted my bones, re-grow some skin, I had enough of riding for a while. It was not my fault not having glows, pants and a jacked. TX is hot. Right?
But once you cached the motorcycling bug, you never get rid of it anymore.
So I started 3 years ago again, but this time with a motorcycling class and more brain-work. LoL. Riding since 48T miles again, and being happy for years to come. But this time with a decent riding gear. Who said you can't learn something when you older?

Enjoy you videos and I have to say I've learned a lot from them … but this one on "Are you too old?" … well I had to comment! My journey to motorcycling is a long one … but I finally made the decision 9 years ago. I was 62.
With my best friend of 55 years owning one of the largest motorcycle dealerships in Canada I had the opportunity to start many times, but never acted on it. I started with a KLR250 then three years later moved to a F800GS … and only a few weeks ago purchased a R1200 GS (of course at a great price!) … let's say that it has been one of the best decisions ever! … Can't wait for spring! … so no, you're not too old!

Thank you for this. I just took the MSF, received license and bought my first bike for my 60th birthday last year. At 5-0” and 100 lbs, received quite a bit of BS from some of the male population. I am loving it and looking for every excuse to get out.

I am 60, done MSF class and now shopping for my first bike.
I used to ride small bikes when I was teenager.

Kevin I really needed this. I've been too hard and second guessing myself not realizing that I just needed to give myself time and skills don't happen overnight just because I use to ride. I use to ride for about 10 years and due to circumstances I had to sale my bike. After 15 years I decided to get back into riding. I can get it down the road but it is like starting over again with slow speed skills. I'm signing up for a beginners class because I know it will make me a better rider. I trust your advice and that is exactly why I became a MC Rider member
