You are trying to teach us but you are riding with 1 hand a lot. Probably be safer with both hands.

I really like the way you calmly ride your bike while constantly monitoring the road. Thank you for posting these videos.

You're doing a great service by making these videos! One issue to be aware of, if you're going to be a MSF instructor then please adhere to MSF ethics. MSF policies forbid using MSF instructor status for self-promotion.

Well Dan… I am slowly but surely gettin there. Most of it is me watching your Youtube vids (among others) and then going out and practicing! Believe me, San Francisco presents many challenges! And so far? I haven't had any close calls (because I was paying attention!) I've only "dropped" the bike twice and I'm far more confident than when I first got on my bike.

    THANK YOU!

You've inspired me to try a similar vid – a commentary ride. I did something similar decades ago on the advanced motorist course (in cages), and I remember it was very difficult to do.
The trouble is that the skills ( those that work) become ingrained to the extent that bringing them into conscious awareness buggers things up.
There is an old story of how to win against a better golfer.
You wait until you are a few holes behind, then admiringly enquire about their drive. "Could you show me please? Maybe slow it down a little?"
As soon as the opponent starts thinking about their swing, boom! they start hooking and slicing like crazy…..
Nevertheless, it will, at worst, provide some humility, and, at best, maybe some teaching points you might be able to use….
