In today’s video, I’m discussing why I don’t have a snorkel on my 2021 Toyota Landcruiser Prado GXL (Lexus GX460). I will put forward 5 reasons why I don’t have a snorkel in the hope that it will save some of my viewers from unnecessary costs and damage to their vehicles.

Hi Mark, I deliberately bought a factory snorkel with my 2022 Fortuner. Gives me piece of mind as factory fitted no warranty issues. I really like the factory Toyota one much more than the bigger names. Its higher and tighter and the dealership sealed it up correctly for me when they installed it. Really easy to cause you a problem with a table spoon of water in the wrong place. I really like the aesthetics, with no bullbar and the snorkel fitted. I would never have a stainless one or most other aftermarket. Only one i would buy other than genuine is the African Jungle tour brand.
You should insulate your garage tiltadoor with 15mm foil board from Bunnings. Did mine, easy as, keeps it heaps cooler and warmer.
We looked at all the wagons available at the time we bought our Prado. It was the most comfortable and capable within our budget with a few extras.
We have a 2015 Prado with 2"lift, bullbar, winch, recovery points and underbody protection fitted from purchase. I added diff and transmission breather kit to add to piece of mind on creek crossings but didn't consider the snorkel as essential for what we do. I walk my water crossings before driving if I can't see the bottom and ensure it's within the safe limits of the vehicle.
So far all these additions have saved me some grief or allowed me to get to places that wouldn't have been possible in its standard trim.
