Does not matter if you are old or not. What does matter is if you ride, tempered with experience.
I am now an 'old dude', and we are not impervious to mistakes Dan. But, mate I must say, that age and experience must count for something, as most horrific accidents that I have seen, have involved young and less experience riders. The older you are, generally the more experienced you are in life and you start to lose this sense of invulnerability – you have had more time to see other perish and you think twice about taking senseless chance. When you hit my age buddy, you will see it from where we stand. You wont see it until you get here, god willing. Keep up the awesome work Dan.
What I don't like is when a biker get angry at drivers for making dumb moves. Does anyone really expect to go through life with absolutely no problems? Mistakes will happen. Reacting will not stop it from ever happening to you again. It will just make drivers hate all bikers.

Squid is actually from a surfer slang for shaky beginner surfers, it comes from “squirrely kid” shortened to “squid”. It found its way to motorcycles when beginner riders had the same squirrely tendencies. Technically being underdressed for safe riding isn’t a squid, but rather just someone that doesn’t realize how much a fall without gear will suck.
Pride was the first sin, Satan wanted to be above God through pride.
