Hello all! WOW, this is by FAR the furthest I have ever been inside a tractor before. I am glad we are venturing this far (although I did make a my first sizable mistake)… I am learning a LOT about how these things come apart and go back together. Everything (bearings, gears) looks to be in GREAT shape with the exception of the two gears mentioned previously, and a single (expensive) bearing. I hope you all enjoy this addition to the ongoing saga, and I hope to make some more progress yet over the next several days. Don’t forget to check out the fundraiser, and help if you can! Click on the link below, and THANK YOU to EVERYONE!

Another outstanding instructional video! Thank you, Ken! Neat to see all the movable parts of this tractor. Hope you get over that cold soon. šš
Bates Corporation has that bearing. But yes, they are over $100. Their number is: 800-248-2955

Also found on eBay for about $100

About that carrier (the now-broken carrier), does it even matter that the casting end is broken off? It's hard for me to tell with only what I can see in the video; however, what purpose does that portion of the casting even serve? Yes, you screwed up by tightening up the bolts too much while trying to pull the carrier out. Don't do that again!! Ha ha. I just don't think that it matters (in the case of this particular part). Lets see how others comment about this broken part …..
IMO: avoid the temptation to silver solder this back together.
Hopefully Richard over at oldfarmjunk101 will have those parts in his hoard.
Hello Kenny,
Bummer on the carrier breaking, but can happen to the the best of us. Keep up the good work and great videos. š
I almost did the same thing with my M. I did have to get a new housing since it was cracked where the differential bearing rides. i replaced all the bearings there at the pinion and differential, man were they EXPENSIVE !
Thanks for the video I enjoyed it. Iām planning on doing the same to my H. Your videos are very helpful.
Great video Kenny.
Very helpful for future work to be done on other H's
Your Video's are a wealth of knowledge. Your misfortune will help many of us in the future. I don't know how you keep up the pace, I wish I lived closer to give you a hand.
Kenny, let me know if you can't find the bering I might be able to make a couple calls and find you a new one. My Dad retired from a manufacturing plant that made bearings they did a lot of Timkin stuff and they might be able to cross reference that number and have one to replace that bad one.
You win some and you lose some. Great video Kenny, keep it up!
