Watch pro skateboarder Tyshawn Jones jump over a $7 million Ferrari Monza SP2

In a skateboarder’s world of one-upping the next-best trick, performing a jump over a $7 million Ferrari Monza SP2 on the streets of New York City would be a hard one to top. But that’s exactly the stunt completed by pro skateboarder Tyshawn Jones last weekend.

In footage showing a bustling crowd lining a busy New York street, Mr Jones skates down the road toward a perpendicular-parked Ferrari Monza SP2 before performing an ‘ollie’ – a jump – over the roofless supercar.

It’s a stunt made to look easy as Mr Jones glides over the pearlescent white Ferrari with minimal margin before landing cleanly on the other side. It doesn’t appear the street was closed for the stunt, considering the footage shows a bank of traffic waiting just down the road.

Mr Jones called the trick the “$5 million ($AU7.43 million) ollie” referencing the rare Ferrari’s value. In Australia the Ferrari Monza SP2 had a price tag of $3.25 million before on-road costs when new, though values have risen in the years since its 499-run production capacity sold-out.

The trick is particularly impressive considering it’s straight off the ground with no ramp. Mr Jones has previously performed a similar stunt over a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, though used a higher platform to launch off.

In the Instagram post depicting the trick, Mr Jones thanks Steven Victor for “trusting” him with the trick, insinuating the record executive owns the vehicle. Mr Victor has represented rappers such as Pusha T, Desiinger, Tyga and Pop Smoke.

Mr Jones has twice won skateboarding publication Thrasher magazine’s Skater of the Year (in 2018 and 2022).

The Ferrari Monza made its debut in 2018 as part of Ferrari’s Icona range. Featuring styling reminiscent of classic Ferraris, the Monza was available in one- and two-seater variants and borrowed the 6.5-litre V12 from the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
