An Australian workshop is reinvigorating an Aussie classic with the soul of Maranello.
An Australian workshop has fitted a Ferrari V12 engine into a Holden ‘LC’ Torana.
The project is owned by the Castlemaine Rod Shop, a business located just outside of Bendigo, Victoria. It specialises in custom-made and aftermarket parts to suit classic muscle cars.
Nicknamed ‘The Real Deal’, the 1969 Holden Torana had already lived a colourful life. Before receiving the Ferrari engine transplant, it was powered by a large-displacement supercharged V8 that produced in excess of 1.5 megawatts, or 1500 kilowatts.
Despite the ‘Tipo F133 H’ engine (from a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti coupe) producing a meagre 397kW in comparison, it’s still over four times more powerful than the original Holden straight-six.
