A dash cam has captured the moment a motorist lost control and launched their Toyota HiLux into the air, rolling the dual-cab ute before escaping without injury.

A pair of south-east Queensland motorists have reportedly emerged unscathed from a dramatic roll-over in a Toyota HiLux, captured on dash cam last week.

In a video uploaded to YouTube by Dash Cam Owners Australia, the Toyota HiLux is seen travelling on a wet road in Pinjarra Hills, Queensland – approximately half an hour from Brisbane – before indicating to attempt an overtake on the car in front.

Less than a second after the ute enters the overtaking lane, it loses control and slides off the tarmac into a ditch between the two sides of the road.

The Toyota HiLux launches out of the ditch and into the air, first hitting the ground on its front bumper before momentum pulls the rear over, completing a full roll.

Going off the speed recorded by the following car’s dash cam, it appears the Toyota HiLux was travelling at about 70km/h when it initially lost control.

According to Dash Cam Owners Australia’s video, the ute had two occupants on-board – both walking away from the crash with no injuries.

Other motorists were also fortunate to escape without injury, as the airborne ute nearly landed in the path of oncoming traffic.
