The Chrysler 300 Could Finally Get the Hellcat Engine it Deserves

A Whole Lot Of Superlatives For The Final Chrysler 300

Posted as a teaser on Chrysler’s website, the “Ultimate Performance” limited edition model isn’t actually its final name yet. Based on these claims, we can expect the final edition of the 300 to be “one of the most powerful and luxurious special edition vehicles in Chrysler Brand history”.

Currently, the Chrysler 300 doesn’t come in any high-performance trim, but just a couple of years ago, the brand used to offer a more potent SRT variant with a 6.4-liter V-8 that produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, and it was good for a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. While that’s all well and good, these numbers probably won’t live up to the brand’s claims of the upcoming special edition 300 being one of the brand’s most powerful models.

With this in mind, a Hellcat-powered 300 is actually a possibility. If this indeed comes true, expect a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that produces a whopping 717 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

Not much else is known, though Chrysler claims that this will also be one of the most luxurious special edition models they’ll ever produce. The 300 is the more laidback sibling of the Charger, and by nature, it is already more luxuriously trimmed compared to its Dodge sibling. Hopefully, Chrysler lives up to its promises and indeed offers us a 300 with luxurious finishes and good build quality.

When Is It Coming Out?

The Chrysler 300 “Ultimate Performance” special edition model is set to make its debut on September 13. The special edition 300 will only be produced in limited quantities, with vehicle availability to begin in Spring 2023.
