For the longest time McLaren denied rumors about a possible SUV and even went as far as saying that there are enough SUVs in the world and adding one to its lineup will dilute the McLaren brand. However, as of July 1st, 2022, the British company has a new CEO: Michael Leiters. He is the guy responsible for creating SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne and the soon-to-be-launched Ferrari Purosangue. Leiters’ love for SUVs and the current market situation, where SUVs bring a lot more sales and profit for companies, made McLaren reconsider its position on SUVs, which means we might see one in the next few years.
