With the 24 Hours of Le Mans race taking place this weekend, the organizing Automobile Club de l’Ouest and the Amalgam Collection of England have announced an agreement in which detailed scale models of “Icons of the 24 Hours of Le Mans” will be produced.
“It’s incredibly exciting for us to partner with the 24 Heures du Mans, one of the oldest and most prestigious automotive and motorsport organizations in the world,” Ben Street, Amalgam Collection chief executive, is quoted in the announcement. “We are incredibly honored to become a part of the Le Mans family, and are looking forward to seeing what the future now brings.”
The news release notes that the ACO was founded in 1906 and that it not only manages the Le Mans race, but was the organizer of the first grand prix event.
“The ACO’s current mission is to develop endurance racing globally, and since 2012 it has been the organizer and promoter of the FIA World Endurance Championship,” the announcement adds.
Specifics on the Le Mans scale models and pricing will be announced through the Amalgam Collection website.
