Nissan has revealed the second of its ‘hyper’ electric SUV concepts ahead of this year’s Tokyo motor show, with ‘gullwing’ doors and bold styling.

Two more ‘Hyper’ concept vehicles are planned, which Drive exclusively reported last week are expected to be named Hyper Tourer and Hyper Force.

The Hyper Adventure concept is an electric-powered SUV that, as the name suggests, is targeted towards adventure seekers in the same way the Hyper Urban concept targets city-centric consumers.

V2X functionality is made up of several communications components, including vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) as well as vehicle-to-network (V2N) capabilities. Many experts believe that V2X is a step closer to full autonomous vehicles.

The Hyper Adventure concept can use V2X to supply electricity charge to homes as well as feed surplus charge back to the electricity grid.

Nissan has been a pioneer in this area, with its Nissan Leaf electric hatchback – introduced in 2011 – also possessing the ability to feed surplus charge back to the grid.

The e-4orce system uses an electric motor on each axle to coordinate all-wheel drive and braking for better handling and dynamics. This system was announced in 2020 and is already available in Australia on the Nissan X-Trail e-Power hybrid SUV.

Inside, the Hyper Adventure has an instrument cluster that’s attached to the front windscreen, giving the impression of a transparent body for greater visibility.

While it will be revealed at the Tokyo motor show on October 25, show-goers won’t be able to sit in the Hyper Adventure concept.

Instead the sharp lines, aerodynamic front-end design and aggressive stance will be presented in a digital form as part of Nissan’s interactive booth.

Nissan will follow the same digital display approach for the Hyper Urban and two other yet-to-be-revealed electric concepts it will debut ahead of the show.
