All examples of the current-generation Toyota Kluger have been recalled after it was discovered the SUV’s front bumper could fall off while driving.
Toyota Australia has recalled 30,205 examples of its 2021-2023 Kluger, due to a fault which could result in the large SUV’s front bumper falling off while driving.
The recall affects all examples of the current-generation Kluger which arrived in Toyota’s Australian showrooms in mid-2021 – including the 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid, the turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder and the now-defunct 3.5-litre V6.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The lower resin bumper cover may detach if damaged during vehicle operation.
“If the lower bumper detaches, it could cause a potential road hazard and increase the risk of an accident and serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
