McLaren Automotive and British premium sportswear brand Castore have come together once again after their successful winter 2020 collection to create a summer clothing line inspired by the design and engineering of McLaren supercars.
“The new summer 2021 collection uses lightweight, technically superior performance fabrics and manufacturing techniques to create a range that feels as luxurious to wear as a McLaren does to drive – while providing exceptional performance characteristics for the wearer,” McLaren says in its news release announcing the clothing launch.
“Every piece in the collection had been precisely engineered using quality, high-stretch fabrics for a full range of motion, with a sharp, automotive-inspired cut that adapts to any occasion.”
Among the notable pieces in the collection is the McLaren performance jacket, priced at $470.
“Inspired by McLaren lightweight technologies, the jacket is light and water resistant,” McLaren adds. “It is constructed from a breathable, high-stretch performance fabric with a matte bonded finish and trim cut to create a sleep silhouette and provide optimum comfort.”
Other items include the McLaren performance one-quarter zip ($200), superlight vest ($95) and T-shirt ($105), performance shorts ($115) and trousers ($200) and the bestselling Castore Garcia hoodie featuring McLaren Automotive design elements for $265.
“We are proud to continue the collaboration between McLaren Automotive and Castore into this summer collection of performance sportswear,” McLaren’s chief marketing officer Gareth Dunsmore says in the release. “The result is a capsule collection that embodies our mutual dedication to exploring the right materials and technology to be built into designs which enable performance in the wearer.”
