The Lincoln Corsair is an upcoming compact crossover that will replace the MKC. Scheduled to break cover at the 2019 New York Auto Show in April, it revives the Corsair nameplate that Ford used for the first time in 1958 for the Edsel brand. The Corsair is the third new nameplate introduced by Lincoln in the last two years following a decision to phase out its alphanumerical naming scheme.

Just like the MKC, the Corsair will be based on the Ford Escape. The latter is also set to debut into a new generation in 2019, and it could also break cover at the New York Auto Show. The redesign will bring new technology and features as well as a hybrid drivetrain in addition to the familiar EcoBoost four-cylinder engines.
