The 2023 Mercedes SL is the first in a long line of Mercedes convertible models to be developed, from start to finish, by AMG. With that said, any other SL before it has lived up to the moniker “an old man’s roadster” and rightfully so. However, there’s one generation of the SL, in particular, that’s oddly desirable despite its controversy, and it’s the R129 model.
