Just like a real one, there are over 2000 pieces needed to build it and you’re bound to have some left over

The team at Lego have added a new vehicle to their Icons series, the naturally iconic, classic Land Rover Defender short wheelbase, in its equally iconic heritage green.

The kit, with 2336 pieces, is 32cm long, 16cm wide and 16cm high when completed and includes all the adventure accessories one would need for an expedition across the lounge room.

You can also leave the Defender 90 in its more urban-friendly form, should you want to keep things simple.

There’s working steering and suspension, a working winch and even sand ladders, snorkel and a high lift jack to complete the kit’s realism.

The Defender joins the Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Vespa 125, Back to the Future Delorean DM12, Ghostbusters Cadillac Hearse, a classic 1950s American pickup truck, Volkswagen T2 Camper, Fiat 500 and Porsche 911 in the Icon vehicle family lineup.
