Mildura-based auction house Burns & Co is selling a large selection of Australian-focused automotive memorabilia.

Items catalogued in the 810-lot auction include genuine Holden dealer signage, vintage automotive advertising finished in vitreous enamel and even classic slot machines.

Despite the auction not occurring until 26 September 2021, some items already have online “prebids” into the multiple thousands of dollars.

At the time of writing, an embossed enamel ‘Veedol Motor Oil‘ sign had received 22 bids and reached AU$10,750.

Another popular item is a large illuminated Holden lion – previously used on-top a ‘totem’ outside a dealership – with a highest bid of AU$525.

Australian-centric automotive memorabilia remains sought-after by collectors. Specialist automotive auction house Shannons recently achieved a 100 per cent clearance rate with regard to collectables at its last auction in April 2021.
