GAA Classic Cars reports a 95 percent sell-through rate for its recent collector car auction at The Automobile Palace in Greensboro, North Carolina, where the 1975-lot collection of the late Ron Jones was featured.
GAA does not share total sales amounts for its auctions.
Topping the sale was a 2006 Ford GT from the Jones collection that had been driven only 11 miles. It sold for $394,200. Jones’ 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird brought $172,800 and a 1969 Dodge Charter R/T Hemi went for $143,100.
Another 1970 Road Runner Superbird with numbers-matching 426 Hemi V8 sold for $345,600 and a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona brought $270,000.
The auction opened on April 25 with a prayer offered by Franklin Graham, son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, and a collection among those in attendance raised more than $100,000 for the Samaritan’s Purse charity.
GAA Classic Cars next sale is scheduled for July 22-24 with a docket of around 650 vehicles.
