The upcoming – but yet to be unveiled – electric Ford Puma SUV will be coming to Australia.

The forthcoming electric Ford Puma electric SUV is destined to join Australian showrooms as part of five new hybrid or electric models to arrive locally the end of 2024.

The electric Ford Puma has not yet been revealed, however Ford Australia has confirmed the vehicle is headed Down Under.

At the recent media preview for the electric Ford Transit, the boss of Ford Australia, Andrew Birkic, said: “We will be bringing in a [fully-electric] Puma. We’re making some decisions around our line-up and we believe that is the right investment for us.

“Puma has done well. It continues to win awards. So, we know that that’s certainly an important play for us in the future.”

In van application the electric motor will send 100kW through the front wheels, providing insight into what to expect from the all-electric Puma light SUV. Both the Ford Transit Courier and electric Puma will be manufactured at Ford’s factory in Romania.
