What’s Special About The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2?
Lamborghini has introduced the Huracan GT3 EVO2. It will be available as a new car as well as an evolution kit for the previous Huracan GT3 EVO model
The Huracan GT3 EVO2 is based on the Huracan EVO street-legal car and fully complies with the new FIA 2022 technical regulations. The GT3 EVO2’s bodywork is completely composed of carbon fiber, and has been built in collaboration with the Centro Stile. The carbon fiber floor is coated with high-strength Zylon fiber. The automaker has also redesigned the roll cage by introducing two rear pillars and new Carbon-Kevlar honeycomb side panels. This was earlier tested on the Essenza SCV12 and has now been carried over to the Huracan GT3 EVO2.

The GT3 EVO2 also comes with new aerodynamic solutions and an intake system. The supercar features a hexagonal air scoop design, derived from the Huracan STO. It is connected to a snorkel that replaces the side air intakes. There are plexiglass side windows that are now fixed to the carbon fiber door panel via a ring of screws. This helps with structural rigidity and reliability.

There are new splitters and a new diffuser, the latter to help create even more downforce. There’s also a massive wing here that helps the car stick to the tarmac even at high speeds. The wing is mounted on aluminum alloy pillars that are, again, inspired by the STO. It features new supports that allow greater adjustments. The GT3 EVO2’s wheels are shod in Pirelli PZero tires, and the brakes are updated with new calipers and pads.

It features the same 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated V-10 engine and a rear-wheel-drive system. In the road-going version, it delivers 640 horsepower. Lamborghini has introduced 10 electronically actuated throttle bodies that will increase the efficiency of the V10 with titanium valves. The entire system will be fixed to the engine with just four screws. We’d seen this four-screw setup on the Essenza SCV12 as well.

“The new Huracán GT3 EVO2 is not simply an evolution of the current car. It’s a new project that reinforces the technological transfer between Lamborghini’s motorsport division and the company and inherits two difficult tasks: to prove as successful as the previous generations of Huracán GT3, which have won more than 40 international titles in six seasons, and to match its commercial success by helping to reach the target of 500 Huracán racing cars since 2015.”

The deliveries for the Huracan GT3 EVO2 will begin in the second half of 2022. As stated earlier, it will also be available as an evolution kit for the Huracan GT3 EVO model. Lamborghini noted that the Huracan GT3 EVO2’s track debut is slated for the 2023 Daytona 24 Hours.
